- Boiled moong dal-1cup
- Rice flour-4 cups
- Sesame seeds-1 table spoon
- Shortening/clarified butter-1 teaspoon
- Salt-to taste
- Red chili powder-1 teaspoon
- Cumin-1/2 teaspoon
- Oil-for deep frying

- In a bowl mix all the ingredients in a bowl and knead well to fine doygh
- Add some water if needed
- Make into small balls,and put in the murukku press
- Then press in hot oil and deep fry in oil on medium flame
- Cool and store in air tight container
